What Happened to the Zones
These are the same zones I drew ten days ago. Price got rejected from 1-hour Resistance Zone 1 — exactly as expected. From that point I was looking for a short trade.
After the rejection, signals appeared on the chart — some FVGs and BOSs. But they failed my checklist. There was a large liquidity zone sitting near the top of the weekly support below, and any short taken from that resistance would have been trading directly into it. I do not take that trade. So I ignored them.
Good analysis does not obligate you to trade. It only tells you where to pay attention.
Where Price Is Now
Price has now arrived near the weekly support zone — which is where the two scenarios from the original post become relevant.
Scenario 1 — Bullish reaction: If price first sweeps the 4-hour liquidity and then gives me confirmation on the lower timeframe, I will look for a long position. The weekly support is a significant level and a reaction from here is a realistic outcome.
Scenario 2 — Bearish breakdown: If price breaks through the weekly support with strong momentum, Gold enters a confirmed bearish trend on the weekly timeframe. In that case I will only be looking for short positions.
Ten days. No trades.
That is ten days without making money. It is also ten days without forcing a bad trade.
Those are not the same thing.
The zones held. The setup simply never met my conditions — until today. I have placed a trade today and will add all the details to my journal once it closes. Whether it wins or loses, it will be documented.
